My property taxes are paid by my mortgage company, is there anything I need to do?

If your lender is planning to pay your property taxes, that's great. Here are some things you need to know to ensure your property tax experience is positive:

  1. If your lender intends to pay your property taxes, they will let the Treasurer's Office know ahead of time.
  2. When you receive your property tax bill, it will be a special bill called a Courtesy Tax Bill

and will display the lender that will be paying your tax bill. If you receive a regular tax bill instead, your lender may not be paying your bill. You will want to pay your bill and contact your lender with any questions.

While the property owner is always responsible for payment of the property taxes, if all of the above applies, there is nothing else you need to do.
