Pay with any major credit card, a checking account, or savings account, and a receipt will be emailed to you.
Paying by check is always free. When paying by credit or debit card, there is an additional fee of 2.35% to cover the processing costs of the card. This fee will appear as a separate line item on your monthly statement.
If you're paying vehicle taxes, you can bring your e-receipt to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to pick up your motor vehicle decal.

Taxes must be paid before DMV will renew a vehicle registration or issue a new one.
Paying by mail is easy, especially when you use the payment envelope we include with your bill. It is already addressed for you and has a special barcode on it to help us track your payment once you mail it.
All you need to do is put your check and the remittance coupon from your tax bill in the payment envelope and drop it in the mail. Checks should be made payable to the Beaufort County Treasurer and include your name, address, phone number and the RevObjID, which can be found on your tax bill. Once we receive your payment, we will mail you a receipt within 7-10 business days.

Even though you complete your payment on your bank's website, they may not send it to the Treasurer's Office immediately. If they don't, we have no way of tracking or honoring your payment until after it is received.

If you're expecting your lender to pay your property taxes, that's great. Here are some things you need to know to ensure your property tax experience is positive.

If your lender intends to pay your property taxes, they will let the Treasurer's Office know ahead of time.

When you receive your property tax bill, it will be a special bill called a Courtesy Tax Bill and will display the lender that will be paying your tax bill.
If you receive a regular tax bill instead, your lender may not be paying your bill. You will need to pay your bill and contact your lender with any questions. -
